Meditation Bootcamp

There are so many misconceptions, myths and expectations about meditation. Here are just a few:

  1. Meditation means you have to stop thinking
  2. Meditation means you have to sit for long periods of time
  3. If I don’t see, hear or experience something magical I did it wrong
  4. Meditation is part of religious or spiritual practice
  5. Meditation only benefits those that are stressed or depressed
  6. Meditation takes years of discipline
  7. Meditation is for people who practice yoga
  8. I need to create a special place to practice

Trying to “calm the mind” is not effective; rather, it often generates frustration and stress.  Meditation is about learning to be present with yourself.
